Treasure Yourself by Miranda Kerr!

After waiting for a month for this book to come, Miranda Kerr's Treasure Yourself has finally arrived in the post today! The Supermodel talks about her thoughts, memories and life experiences, in order to inspire our generation to do just what the title says. Have you guys ever read this before? I'll let you know what I think once I have finished reading it!

Hello Monochrome!

Black and white go together like salt and pepper, and have always been the colours made for each other! With this trend being around for a while, it looks like it is set to be even bigger this season. As seen at Prada, Marc Jacobs, Provenza Schouler, Marni and many more on the SS13 catwalks, you can work this trend in squares, stripes, colour blocking, or mix and match as you please! Take a look at my favourite Monochrome looks:

Couture Beauty trends!

Christian Dior

To add to their fairytale themed couture show, makeup artists created a soft and subtle look. Lips were the key stand out as each model was encrusted with a bright, bold lip with shimmering red jewels. The eyes held a metallic shadow finished with a flick of black eye liner whilst the rest of the face was left dewy, natural and flawless, in order to draw the attention to the key aspects of the look - the lips. Nails were also minimal as the palest of pink palette was used. Hair was styled in a pixie crop with the wet look trend coming in play.

Chanel

With a history of incredible looks during Couture Fashion Week, Chanel had to pull something big out the bag, and they certainly didn't disappoint! The eyes were quite obviously the key element for this show as a deep metallic black covered the entire lid of the eye and lined the bottom to then have mesh eyelashes applied to both the upper and lower lashes. A smeared smudge effect finished the look, along with feather lash lines below the eye to mimic the model crying. Unsurprisingly, lips and nails were left as a pink natural shade, and skin looked faultless. To soften the look, hair was styled in a pretty, wavy up do.

Versace

Once again all the attention was on the eyes in a smoky black shade along with neon green eye liner on the inner and outer corners. The smoky look was gently softened by perfect skin and pale pink lips and nails. Hair was left natural at the bottom but slicked back at the top to showcase the 'wet' look trend.

 Giorgio Armani Prive

The wet look was seen again as it was also the style for the models hair at Giorgio Armani Prive but this time it was seen to be shiny yet slick. By twisting the hair back on itself, the hair swept over the forehead in a sweeping fringe style. Lips were seen to be a bold matte red shade, whilst a black graphic line was created on the crease of the eye lid. For the skin, makeup artists opted for a flawless dewy complexion.

Giambattista Valli

Possibly the most natural look at Couture Fashion Week was seen at Giambattista Valli as models 'barely there' makeup was chic and pretty. With brushed up brows and dewy skin this is looking to be the easiest makeup trend to follow this season. Lips were particulary natural also, as a light shimmering pink shade was applied. Adding to the natural look was the model hair styled in roughly parted centre parting, whilst the hair was left in a soft, natural and wavy look.

Stéphane Rolland

Stéphane Rolland added to the long list of shows that had models with dewy skin (take note). A flawless look was created alongside black lined eyes on the top and bottom. Hair was centred in a middle parting leading into a low updo at the back of the head.

Valentino

Hair was placed in a centre parting, leading into delicate plaits, with loose strands to create a soft, natural and relaxed look. The remaining hair was placed into a low messy bun to add to the hassle free yet beautiful look. Like Giambattista Valli, makeup was left minimal and pretty with creamy complexions, whilst lips were seen to be the palest of pinks and lightly contoured eyes. Brushed up brows and romantic long lashes completed the look.

Jean Paul Gaultier

With eyes being the key centre piece, models at Jean Paul Gaultier were seen to have a slick black smudged eyeliner and extra long eyebrows. Silver jewels were placed in the inner corners of the eyes along with one placed on the left cheek between the lips and the nose. Lips were pretty in pink and skin was left flawless and natural. A glossy deep metallic red was the colour palette for the models nails. It came to no surprise that the extravagant and complicated hairstyle was out as it is Couture! A plait starting at the nape of the neck going upwards started the hairstyle, followed by an extra large amount of volume on the top of the head leading into another plait hanging loosely down the back of the head.

Couture Fashion Week - Valentino!

Valentino - (all images - British Vogue)

How incredibly beautiful are these couture gowns from Valentino?! And these are only a few of them! From crisp whites, to daring reds and the blackest of blacks, all of the gowns had a massive sense of individuality, poise and elegance. With a variety of high necklines, over the shoulder and strapless designs, it's fair to say that Mr Valentino definitely got a tick in every aspect of every dress! The beautiful flowing materials all followed a charming design of floral and swirled patterns either with a cut out or a three dimensional effect. The womanly silhouette wasn't lost either as they were clinched in at the waist to create a feminine figure. The breathtaking gowns oozed a sense of romance, purity and sophistication - perfection.

Couture Fashion Week - Elie Saab!

Elie Saab

The Elie Saab show is always the one I look forward to most when it comes to Couture gowns! They are always exquisitely sequined, with satin and chiffon in the mix to create amazingly beautiful, elegant creations! With embellishment in every corner, this particular dress above immediately caught my eye as the lilac coloured beauty with a high neck and three quarter length sleeves, shimmered and shone under the lights whilst the crowds eyes lite up with delight. With extremely high red carpet expectations, they didn't disappoint! I couldn't just pick one look for this incredible and impeccable show, so take a look at some more stunning looks below or if you love Elie Saab as much as I do, then why not treat yourself by watching the full show:

Couture is Back!

As the curtains open in Paris for the incredible collections of the Spring/Summer 2013, an amazing array of Couture clothing is presented for the whole world to see. From Chanel, to Christian Dior, I am going to take you through a run through of my favourite pieces so far!

Chanel
(all images courtesy of British Vogue)

This Couture Fashion Week, Chanel opted for a Gothic take as Karl Lagerfeld produced an epic line up such as the pieces seen on British Model of the Year, Cara Delevingne above. I particularly love this outfit as the black sheer lace tights draw your attention to the little black dress, with the contrast angelic white neck and shoulder detail. The models appeared with jet black eye makeup and a feather headpiece to complete the look.

Christian Dior

I loved the Christian Dior show. The enchanting, magical theme almost looked like a living Fairytale as the exquisite gowns made a show stopping entrance. Raf Simons pulled out all the stops to impress and he absolutely achieved that! The strapless, floor length gown, took the breath away from the crowd as the pink and white floral piece created a fantasy. To add to the look, a bright glittered red lip, along with floral headbands were all on the cards.

Versace

Model Bette Franke appeared in a skin hugging, floor length black gown with red, yellow and a sheer detailing to it. The halterneck style was created by the red and yellow trail whilst a sheer leg line enabled the dress to show off the shoes at the same time. Donatella Versace opted for a smoky green eye, and slicked back hair for the models to showcase the powerful collection.

Giambattista Valli

Epic shapes and lines made an appearance at Giambattista Valli this Couture week, as they pulled everything out of the bag to show what they are made of. This particular look above features a long training back with a shorter front with layers upon layers to create a big and bouncy skirt in jet black. From the waist up, a white shirt with black panelling and a gold leaf necklace completed the look.

My three makeup essentials!

Secretly everyone wants to know what products everyone uses because we like to try and test new products! Today, I am going to share with you my three favourite makeup items that have my back every single time I need them!

Your foundation is the base to your makeup and without a good base, the rest will just go flop, which is why I love L'Oreal Paris True Match foundation as I have never been successful in finding a shade that is perfect for my skin colour until now! I use golden ivory (yes I am very pale), and it glides onto your skin with ease giving you full, soft coverage. To maximise the result, use a primer or concealer before putting on your foundation.

I purchased this mascara in a Rimmel London goody bag at the Clothes Show Live and I'm so glad I did otherwise I wouldn't really know about it! It does what it says and gives you a WOW lash line, without any clumps. You are able to get masses of volume and length with the sweep of a couple of brushes which I haven't come across before, so it is definitely a thumbs up from me.

A bold lip always completes any look, and personally, I love a bright red lip (I use shade 01). The best one I have ever found is 100% Kate Moss's Lasting Finish Lipstick, as the colour is beautiful and well...it last forever! If your not much of a red lip fan however, the collection has lots more shades on offer, with Kate recently releasing a Matte collection.

Happy Birthday Kate Moss!

Happy 39th Birthday Kate Moss! After being discovered by Sarah Doukas, the founder of Storm Models at the age of 14, her career has blossomed leading her to be the face of some of the most respected designers in the world. As well as her career, her style has also evolved as she has become one of the worlds most recognised Fashion icons.

Lets take a look back at some of her most famous moments in Fashion:

A 19 year old Kate graced her first cover of British Vogue in March 1993.

In February 2002, Moss was snapped wearing a feather headdress by Corinne Day for Freedom Child.

The Supermodel made another of her many appearances on the cover of British Vogue as David Bowie. She was photographed by photographer Nick Knight for the May 2003 issue.

Once again appearing in Vogue, Moss was shot by Lachlan Bailey for a vintage inspired shoot in December 2007.

For the December 2008 issue of Vogue, Nick Knight took to the lens to capture the Supermodel wearing Dior Couture.

Embracing her chiseling cheek bones, Mario Testino captured Moss for a Super Star issue for Vogue in December 2010.

Possibly one of my favourite covers, Kate marked her 31st British Vogue cover in a stunning Miu Miu dress in August 2011.

For her latest and 32nd cover she embarked the beginning of the Olympics in June 2012. Mert Allas and Marcus Piggot photographed the Model wearing a studded silk and leather Versace dress.

Wearing an incredible gold Alexander McQueen gown, Moss took to the stage at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics as well as featuring in a spread for British Vogue in the September 2012 issue, shot by Nick Knight.
