Inspiration from the Autumn/Winter 2012/13 Fashion Weeks!

It may seem a while back now as to when the first looks of all the amazing designers released their Autumn/Winter 2012/13 collections on the catwalk, but its just beginning to be the time to really explore your favourite trends and take inspiration from the runway. But seeing as it was so long ago, i think it would be a good idea to take a look back on some of my favourite shows to let you decide what your inspiration from this season will be!

Jean Paul Gaultier

With the big bold colour being black dominating the first few minutes of this epic show, it was made clear that the dark colour was going to be big this season, and so it is with the grunge and leather trends. Take inspiration by picking some of your favourite pieces and adding your own twist and personal style to it. Further into the show, deep bold colours of blue, purple, olive (green/yellow), and orange made an appearance. With the bold jewel colours mostly being seen on elegant dresses, it seems that the key for evening wear would be beautiful satin jewels. The dominant black wasn't finished yet however, as it was teamed with gold shades to create a baroque trend. The baroque is big this season, so if your unsure how to work this trend, then be sure to take some time to watch the show above and give your creative mind some ideas.

Chanel

With the genius that is Karl Lagerfeld behind this Haute Couture collection, the eager fashion eyes had a sneaky suspicion that they knew they weren't going to be disappointed. Out came the tweeds and the brains started taking note. The pretty silver and grey lining created an elegant approach to this key look seen on jackets, skirts and coats. This was then followed by more angelic tweeds but this time appeared a hint of pink to add to the effect of the dominant grey and silver fabrics. Further into the mesmerising show, many more shades of pink began to appear on a variety of designs of tweed inspired clothing and stole the crowds attention. This trend is the key for day time wear this season. To round up the show, Lagerfeld gave the audience something to drool over...beautiful floor length gowns. Karl stuck to his roots of modern yet playful which definitely payed off.

Louis Vuitton

The heritage trend and the statement trouser first came into perspective at the Autumn/Winter 2012/13 ready-to-wear show, as out came a shining steam engine as the clock struck 10. Sharp and sturdy coats were seen to be accompanied by bejewelled buttons. Tailored trousers and A-line dresses came next with swing jackets to complete the look. Red and mustard became the focusing point soon after as the bold colours were seen on cashmere dresses followed by lilac, cream, blue and brown embellished metallics. By taking inspiration from this immense catwalk show, you'll be sure to look the part next time you take a trip to the Fashion Train Station.
