Dolce and Gabbana: A Decade in the Past

Who could forget Dolce and Gabbana's Autumn/Winter 2012/2013 amazing gold and black baroque looks? The thing is, seeing as I was only a toddler back in 2002, I have no idea what the designers bought to the table with their creative looks a decade ago. So I thought I would share with you the past ten years of the amazing Dolce and Gabbana looks!

2002:

Gisele Bundchen opened the 2002 show wearing a white trouser and jacket suit. The gold belt wore around her trousers matched the the beautiful heels and exquisite buttons on the jacket leaving the contrasting black shirt to stand out even if it was under a jacket. The models hair was left looking sleek but natural along with the makeup.

2003:

A year later and the neon tights were out! This time in a shade of deep purple contrasting the black colour scheme based on the rest of the look. A smart low cut jacket which was button up, a knee length pencil skirt and sandal like heels were all put together to create an effective look. The models hair was styled in a natural up-do to finish the outfit.

2004:

The Spring/Summer 2004 show saw a beautiful array of pink and silver just like this elegant floor length maxi dress. Wore on model Hana Soukupova, the delicate dress lay gentle whilst swaying as she walked down the runway. The thin straps, low round silver embellished neckline, crossed detail down the body of the dress and scattered diamonds added extra sparkle to the runway. The models hair was left to flow naturally, leaving the attention on the dress whilst the makeup was given a bold statement red lip.

2005:

It was Naomi Campbell's turn to take the limelight on the Dolce and Gabbana Milan Spring/Summer 2005 runway as she opened in a snake print corset like dress. The skin tight dress was tightly done up in a cross stitch lace at the front of the body instead of the back creating a reinvented corset look. The outfit was heavily accessorised with gold jewellery including thick wrist bangles and necklaces, hooped earrings and a gold clutch. The models hair was styled in a sleek straight look in a middle parting.

2006:

The Fall 2006 show saw a Military feel about the created looks. The brown leather knee high boots, brown bag and brown belt clinched in the waist, accessorised the outfit, whilst a white blouse and tan coloured trouser was wore underneath a tan colour beaded dress.  2006 also saw the return of the up-do as the hair was placed into a neat centre parting taking the hair to the back to create a natural, tousled feel.

2007:

Gisele Bundchen was back for the Fall 2007 show featured in this stunning silver maxi floor length gown. The exquisite detail saw the look sparkle in the lights of the runway as it was accessorised with a thick black waist belt along with sandal strapped silver heels. Her hair was styled slick back into a neat ponytail falling down her back, tightly secured with a band without a hair out of place.

2008:

During Milan Fashion week in Fall 2008, Lindsay Ellingson opened the Dolce and Gabbana runway show featuring a knee length fluffy coat and a grey square print dress with long sleeves and falling at a shin length.  The look was accessorised with a gold, blue and red neck scarf, a brown belt to clinch in the waist, brown knee high boots, a brown leather bag and a black hat. The makeup was seen to have a bold red lip, and a brown smoky eye, whilst the hair hung loosing under the hat.

2009:

Fall 2009 saw a splash of colour as this model strutted down the runway. This particular look saw a straight knee length bright pink skirt paired with a matching pink jacket with puffed shoulders leaving the turquoise buttons and necklines to bounce off the outfit. A black belt clinched in the waist, sheer black tights, black heels and a black headpiece was on the cards for the accessories department along with a pink printed clutch.

2010:

A dark ethereal look was presented in the Fall 2010 runway show, as model Karlie Kloss wore a a black dress with sheer full length arms and floating skirt. The body of the dress was detailed with a black and white floral lace to create an elegant yet dark feel. The makeup was created with a flawless face and a bold dark red lip, along with the hair styled in a natural up-do.

2011:

2011 saw a white wash out! The beautiful, delicate dress seen above on model Joan Smalls comes in a knee length with a white flower cut out neck and end of the skirt detail. The body of the dress continues with the white colour scheme along with adding in some floral patterns in blue, green and yellow. To finish the look, there was a white belt placed around the waist, white embellished heels and white, gold and blue embellished dangling earrings.

2012:

Then came the magnificent baroque inspired Fall 2012 runway show wear model Bette Franke wore an incredible detailed black and gold dress. It features gold embellished detail on top of black sheer skirt, over the top of the black body of the dress. The shoulders were detailed with a sheer black flower cut material that hung delicately over the models shoulders and down the back of the head. Big, gold, dangling earrings and black lace up heeled boots completed the look.
